my roots come from the southwest, and my growth occurred in the pacific northwest. i spent my foundational years wandering the san juan mountains, riding horseback through fields, and learning to express myself through art. as i worked out the kinks of the adolescent years, trying just about every sport there is, working my way through tons of musical instruments, i finally found a camera in my hand that i haven’t put down since.
in college, i balanced photography with pursuing a degree in film production at Loyola Marymount University in LA. after transferring to a college in Portland, OR, to study art history, my photography shifted from simple portraiture to images with more energy and life. i took inspiration from the general lack of sunlight in Portland, where it was necessary to take more creative approaches to create a stimulating image.
here i stand now, combining my history in travel photography and senior portraiture with the power that i found in Portland and now feel in Colorado.
i aim to create photographs that speak to the soul, touching a deeper part of the human conscience. if the observance of a photograph doesn’t bring the viewer some form of emotion, i feel that the photograph has fallen short. my never-ending journey to make people feel is what i live for, and photograph for.
